Shared Cost Initiative Program

On an ongoing basis, the Association uses the research funds that are contributed by each of the 13 MPOs in the state to support Shared Cost Initiatives. Each SCI addresses an issue of common interest, although the actual form of the initiative can vary significantly. Recently, SCI funding has supported training for MPO staff, one-day workshops on topics such as safety and congestion management systems, as well as more traditional research on subjects such as statewide data sharing.

Information sharing is a key objective for the SCI program and this website has been created to make the products of these investments more widely available both within New York State and beyond. A page has been created for each project, including those that have already been completed. These pages allow the Association to share the various reports and other products that have come out of the SCI program. Most pages include a point of contact for addressing project-specific inquiries. You can direct questions about specific projects or the SCI program in general to NYSMPO Staff.
